MISSION
Indianapolis Women's Chorus sings diverse and powerful music to build an inclusive community, inspire change, and nurture the human spirit.
IWC channels the power of singing together to deepen connection, cultivate joy, and inspire personal and social change. We welcome women, nonbinary, gender nonconforming, and transgender individuals who sing in the soprano/alto (treble) range. With singers across varied ages, sexual orientations, races/ethnicities, abilities, backgrounds, and musical knowledge, IWC is on a journey to create a singing community that provides a safe space for growth and models the inclusive world we envision.
IWC shares unique and thought-provoking songs that affirm the experiences of those whose voices often go unheard, highlighting the music of women, LGBTQ+, feminist, and BIPOC composers or arrangers. We respect this music and these creators by working toward excellence with care for both the songs and the singers. Through our diverse repertoire, we raise awareness about social and environmental issues and support the work of others engaged in creating a more just, peaceful, and inclusive community.

Feminism / Equality
We are a feminist chorus with historical roots in the LGBTQA community. We give voice to the importance of equality for women, honoring our unique strengths to bring about a more
inclusive and peaceful world.
Social Justice / Advocacy
We stand with and for those whose voices go unheard, unrecognized or unacknowledged. Our contribution to social justice is creating beauty as a catalyst for transformation.
Respect / Authenticity
We respect each other and our musical process, holding in high regard the authenticity of one another and our audiences.
Inclusiveness
We provide and maintain a safe space of acceptance for all.
Catalysts
We are catalysts for each other and for our audiences to be transformed – both by our song and our commitment to each other. As catalysts we accelerate a chain reaction to effect
positive change in the world.
Listening and Intentionality
Listening is our foundation. By better listening to ourselves, each other, our audiences and our community we are able to be more intentional in creating experiences that change lives and support social justice.
